Price calculation

We show readers a price before checkout, so we need a way to quote each book. Either option works.

Cost calculation API

Returns a quote for these inputs:

  • Trim size
  • Page count
  • Paper type / GSM
  • Binding
  • Interior colour
  • Quantity
Price table or formula

A static table or formula covering the same inputs, which we apply on our side.

Cover sizing

Spine width depends on page count, so you'll need to generate or validate covers at the correct full size: front, spine and back.

Order creation API

Once a reader pays, we send the order to you through an API.

  • We send, at minimum
  • Book title
  • Print specificationTrim, paper, binding, colour
  • Quantity
  • Cover filePDF or URL
  • Interior filePDF or URL
  • Shipping address
  • Shipping optionChosen speed
You return Order or job ID

A partner order or job ID we use to track the order from then on.

If you handle shipping

We also need an API that returns the shipping options and costs for an address or order, so readers see them before checkout.

Shipping status

We track every order through these stages and need to hear from you when it moves.

  1. PendingOrder sent to you
  2. ConfirmedAccepted for printing
  3. ShippedMust notify us
  4. DeliveredMust notify us
Can also end in Canceled / rejected · must notify us Failed Error

Send with each update

  • Tracking ID
  • Tracking URL
  • Timestamps, where available

How to send updates

Webhook Preferred

You push each status change to us as it happens, authenticated with a signed payload or an API key.

Status lookup API Fallback

If webhooks aren't possible, we poll on a schedule using your order or job ID.

Please document your own status names so we can map them to our stages.
