About Stck

Stck is the world's leading fan commerce infrastructure for writers and publishers

Stck is based on a simple idea: upload a work once and sell it anywhere in the world. Over five years we have built out the capability that allows something unprecedented. Today writers and publishers can offer everything a reader will buy, from digital chapters, ebooks and printed books to writer-managed AI chats, with no technology integration or upfront cost.

Why this is a problem worth solving

The good news about the market for books is that it has weathered the digital turn significantly better than any other storytelling medium: the DVD is gone and the box office has shrunk, while books have grown. In 2026 it is worth well over $100 billion a year. It grows at the rate of the economy, and within it sectors like audio grow at double digits and genres like romantasy faster still. Stck is built on the belief that the industry's good fortune is the right moment to fix a deep weakness: publishers and writers have left a lot of money on the table, and their position against Amazon's near monopoly on distribution is poor. The clearest sign is that on a printed book sold through Amazon, the writer and publisher can be left with as little as 30 per cent of the price, and, worse, the creative side of the industry has no data on who buys its work. Nor is this only about margins. The passion fans have for the authors they publish goes largely untapped, with no revenue made from signed copies or merchandise rights.

What the writer and publisher keep on a printed book

  • Amazon 30%
  • Stck 75%
Amazon: as little as 30% of the price. Stck: 75%, net of printing.

Stck flips the supply chain

It does so in three ways.

  1. 1Margins
    75%
    Print
    90%
    Digital
    Settled monthly

First, margins: rights owners retain 75 per cent on print, net of printing, and 90 per cent on digital, settled monthly. Stck earns the balance, and only when a sale is made.

  2. 2Customer data
    New order Paid
    Camille Laurent camille@example.com
Le vent des Highlands Paperback · 1 copy

Second, customer data: every sale reaches the rights owner with the buyer's name, email and order.

  3. 3Geography
    • ParisQuebec
    • ChennaiToronto
    • MadridBuenos Aires
    Printed near the buyer

Third, geography: there is no longer any need to hold a warehouse or lock capital in dead inventory. Everything is on demand and printed near the buyer, with no freight and no tariff, so a Paris publisher sells in Quebec, Chennai in Toronto and Madrid in Buenos Aires from local production.

Why is everyone, from Big Four imprints to independent writers to serial fiction stars, joining our movement?

The main reason is our focus on a world-class reader experience in every format. No other platform delivers the oldest form - the printed book - and the newest - an AI experience - in one place. Fans can engage on a website without ads, a personalized e-reader, a beautifully produced hardcover, or chat with a favourite character. Stck is competitive with Amazon on cost to the reader, shipping included, in the major markets, so a reader who cares about the environment or about taking back power from big tech pays little or nothing extra to join the movement. The proof is in use: a million readers a day on Stck-powered sites buying over ten thousand SKUs a day.

The other reason we have the trust of the biggest publishers and the most successful writers is that we respect the trade: its intellectual property and its quality of production. Our network for digital distribution and print on demand meets the most stringent production standards of the global majors. We already deliver in 100+ countries. And our contract is non-exclusive. A publisher keeps every existing channel and adds a direct-to-consumer one, which makes us an obvious component of anyone's global distribution strategy.

What comes next: the world's biggest bookshop, built as a fan world

Our vision is the world's largest bookshop, built as a fan world: a publisher or writer uploads once and every format is on sale everywhere. By year end Stck will list 500,000 titles. Imagine a francophone bookshop where every French book is available to any reader in the world (Cantook), and the same for Italian and Spanish. We are the "world's bookshop" also because we enable small publishers anywhere to reach readers in the United States and Europe (Speaking Tiger, Kalachuvadu). And because we give young writers and innovative imprints a way to offer fans far more than the words without upfront investment (Whisper character chat, merchandise, signed editions).

Upload once. Sell anywhere.
